Attorney Velez Believes In Giving Back To The Community!
Beyond her legal practice attorney Velez is committed to helping those in our community, and serves on the Executive Board of Directors of The Women's Foundation of Florida. The mission of The Women's Foundation of Florida is to empower women and girls to be leaders so they can change the world! Through the Women’s Foundation of Florida she co-chairs Women On The Run along with former West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio. Women On The Run is a non-partisan training and mentoring program for women interested in running for office, running campaigns, or serving in a leadership role of a community organization.
Mrs. Velez also served on the Board of Directors of Dress for Success Palm Beaches, as board secretary, co-chair of the “Shop for Success” fundraiser, and a member of the Development Committee. Dress for Success is a nonprofit that provides women in our community the tools needed to obtain employment and break the cycle of poverty.
Recently, Karen had the honor of being a finalist for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, “Esperanza” Award. Esperanza means hope in Spanish. The Esperanza Awards recognize and honor Hispanic businesswomen with exceptional achievement in business and in the public or private sectors in Palm Beach County.
